Two Fermoy swimmers chosen for Swim Ireland Munster Development Squad

Munster have a Swim Ireland international selection policy in place, which is adhered to when selecting swimmers for their squad.

This means there is a very high standard of qualifying times and a strict monitoring strategy in place.

As a result, it is not just a question of swimming unbelievably fast to gain the times, but the swimmers have also to give 100% commitment and dedication to their sport.

As the Fermoy swimmers in question are only 13 years old, it is also a huge undertaking for their parents.

Early morning training, early nights, good nutrition, positive mental attitude, land training etc, all play a role in keeping a swimmer at the top.

So, who are these 2 dedicated athletes: Jodie Baker and Zoe Daniels-Howard are the two Fermoy Swimming Club swimmers, who, under the guidance of their coach Jackie Power, have reached (or rather swam) to great heights.

We wish them all the best for this season and hope they enjoy their new training schedule, starting this Saturday, September 23 at UL.

Don’t forget girls you still have all the Fermoy swimming sessions to attend!
