Swimmers do themselves proud at Michael Bowles & Ennis galas

Last weekend was a very busy weekend for our swimmers with a few swimmers heading to the Ennis Invitational and four swimmers heading to Cork to compete in the Michael Bowles Invitation Gala.

Starting with the Ennis Invitation Gala, Annalise Kouwenberg was brave to take on the 800m free. Yes, this is swimming 32 lengths of the pool as fast as you can. Well done to Annalise who clocked up a wonderful time of 10 minutes 51 seconds winning a bronze medal in the process.

Ben Terry swam his first competitive 100m fly in a very good 1.46. He also knocked 3.35 seconds off his 100m free.

Oisin Finn and Kay O’Sullivan at the recent Grade 2 gala at Waterford Crystal – both are now Grade 1 swimmers. Oisin also won gold in the 100m backstroke and bronze in the 200m freestyle and 100m fly, while Kay won silver in the 100m fly.
