Notice to Swimmers/Parents of Fermoy Swimming Club

Dear Swimmer/parents,
We are delighted to announce that we will be recommencing swimming teaching and training for most squads in September. At present we are awaiting the latest announcements from the Government regarding Covid-19 and possible update to the Swim Ireland Covid-19 requirements, this in particular could affect the Glofish return.

All swimmers that are returning will need to complete the Fermoy S.C. ‘Return To Water’ Self Declaration Form (Athletes & Staff) and Code of Conduct .

This can be accessed via: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdiRb8YT4nkxg59oOCOttxg6RqJaz0H5LVp2bdOKf09o_rmLg/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0

and also comply with the Fermoy Swimming Club Standard Operating Procedures.

See: Standard Operating Procedures for Return To Water – Fermoy Swimming Club

NOTE: All parents, who will be undertaking the role of Parent on Duty, will need to complete the Swim Ireland COVID-19 Officer eLearning Course before swimmers return to water. The course can be accessed via: https://covid.swimireland.ie/#/.

Once completed, we would be obliged if a screen shot of the e-learning certificate could also be emailed to the covid officer with the swimmers name and squad. If parents have previously completed the course and sent a copy to the covid officer there is no need to redo it.

We can confirm that the following Squads will be recommencing training as follows:

  • Torpedoes  – Tuesday, 14th September
  • Sharks – Tuesday, 14th September
  • Dolphins – Sunday, 19th September

All existing Torpedoes, Sharks and Dolphins do not have any credit remaining so will need to pay the new term fees via our payment system prior to recommencement of training.

The following Squads, Swordfish, Sailfish, Marlins and Glofish will recommence following a Swimming Assessment on Friday, 17th September. These squads still have credit from when we had to postpone lessons in 2020 so the term length will be shortened to allow for the remaining credit to be used.

Please note that Glofish swimmers who swam in the 3rd section of the big pool (from opposite the lifeguard office and deeper) are requested to come for a Swimming Assessment.

Glofish Swimmers who swam in the shallower end of the pool only need to confirm their return, if you are not sure where the Glofish swimmer swam, please mention this on the email.

To confirm your return and book your assessment please email Fermoy Swimming Club stating the Name of Swimmer and Swimming Squad to the following addresses by 8pm on Tuesday, 14th September:

The times for the Swimming assessments is as follows:
