Level 2 Blended Swimming Coach Course

There will be a Level 2 Blended Swimming Coach Course running from Tuesday 4th June to Sunday 9th June 2019 at University of Limerick pool.

Level 2 Blended Swimming Coach

This qualification builds on the knowledge, skills and abilities developed in the Swim Ireland Level 1 Assistant Swimming Coach qualification.

When achieved it ensures swimming coaches can effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate a series of coaching lessons.

Prerequisites

You must be at least 16 years of age by the start of the course. Hold a valid Safeguarding certificate and have completed Swim Ireland vetting. You must hold a Swim Ireland Level 1 Assistant Swimming Coach qualification.

Details

This is a Blended Learning programme which means that candidates’ complete part of the theory online.

You will receive an email with details of how to login to our Swim Training and Education Platform (STEP) towards the end of February.

You will have until a week before the first face to face date to successfully complete your online learning.

The Swim Ireland Level 2 Swimming Coach qualification is a practical qualification, which develops the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be a Swim Ireland Level 2 Swimming Coach and is made up of a series of learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Assessment is through the completion of a series of task classroom based and poolside.

Assessment

Assessment is the responsibility of the Tutor and will cover the following:

Practical teaching through the use of observation, oral and/or written and recorded against a checklist of competence related to specific outcomes.

Planning, preparation & other associated tasks

A selection of group work, presentations, group tasks, worksheets, games and pool work and other activities deemed appropriate by the assessor

Online Learning

You will be expected to complete the online learning  before attending the face to face course days.

You will need access to a computer/tablet and Internet access to complete your online learning.
