We had a good return of medals from the recent Munster Grade 1 gala in Mayfield, with Claire O’Driscoll winning bronze in her 100m backstroke and Zoe Daniels-Howard and Fiona Miao bagging an amazing 4 medals each.
Zoe won silver in her 100m breaststroke, 200m IM (with a PB taking off -8.87 seconds in this event) and 100m freestyle (a PB taking off -6.27 seconds on her previous time), while she took gold in her 400m freestyle (and a PB, shaving off another -4.55 seconds).
Fiona took silver in her 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke, and bronze in her 200m IM and 100m butterfly and also getting a PB in this event taking off -1.19 seconds on her previous time.
Sally Linehan achieved a PB in her 100 Freestyle, taking 2 seconds off her previous time in this event and also in her 100m Fly knocking off a very impressive -8.78 seconds.
Jill O’Flynn swam a good 400m freestyle and achieved a PB in her 100m Fly by taking off -4.35 seconds on her previous time and was unlucky to finish just outside the medals in this event.
In her 200IM, Jill had another PB by -4.96 seconds and a fabulous PB in her 200m Freestyle by -10.18 seconds.
Well done girls – a fantastic achievement.
