Fermoy win Garda Cup at home gala

The Fermoy swimmers did not have far to travel on Saturday, April 22 to attend their own Invitation Gala. They say you have a home advantage and this certainly seemed to work with swimmers making fabulous personal bests.

Jodie Baker only competed 2 weeks prior to this gala and had knocked off an incredible 3+ seconds in that gala. Amazingly she got another 3+ PB qualifying her in the 100m Freestyle for the National Division 1 Gala held in the National Aquatic Centre in the summer. She also won gold in this event. Not content with this she swam a brilliant 200m Breaststroke to win gold and get her qualifying time for this event also. Well done Jodie.
